According to the information, on Sunday, the forest department team got information that two people smuggle turtles. Tortoise from UP is caught and sold in Hyderabad. On the information, information was given to the Forest Department, Hyderabad. After which two people were arrested from Hyderabad while taking team action. On search, 266 banned turtles kept in their possession have been found. Both the accused are residents of Lucknow.
266 turtles recovered
DFO Dr. Ravi Kumar Singh told that the turtles were smuggled from Lucknow to Hyderabad. On receiving the information, the team of Hyderabad Forest Department was informed. On reaching there, the team of Hyderabad Forest Department caught both the accused and recovered 266 turtles from them. He was kept in the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad till the investigation went on. After this, they were brought back by plane after sending the team from here. These turtles have been kept in Kukrail.
