Preet Vihar Police has arrested two vicious snatchers and a receiver. They were identified as Rakesh alias Vicky (35) of Sadar Bazar, Nakul alias Nishant (22) of Paharganj and Naresh alias Kalia of receiver Motia Khan. The bikes, 19 phones and one tablet used in the crime have been recovered from them. The police claimed to have solved 17 cases. There are already 18 cases registered against Rakesh, which is the BC of Sadar police station. There were eight cases on Nakul, which is the BC of Paharganj. There are also eight FIRs on receiver Naresh.
DCP (East) Priyanka Kashyap said that on October 22, two bike-borne miscreants snatched the victim’s mobile from in front of V3S Mall located on Vikas Marg. When Motia Khan was found the location of the phone, the police raided, but the snatchers were not caught. A team of SHO Hira Lal, SI Sandeep, HC Om Singh, constable Neeraj and Yogesh was formed under the supervision of ACP Shipra Giri.
With the help of technical surveillance and local intelligence, BC Rakesh alias Vicky of Sadar police station was identified as a snatcher. It was caught by the police team, who told during interrogation that Nakul alias Nishant, a declared miscreant of Paharganj police station, was involved with him in the incident. The police also arrested him from Paharganj. The accused told that he used to go out to commit the crime by renting a bike from Mohan Singh alias Munna for three thousand rupees per day. The accused used to sell the snatched phones to Naresh. Arrested him too.
