Used to snatch-theft, police caught two miscreants

Central Delhi’s Pahar Ganj police station has arrested two vicious miscreants. They have been identified as Raj alias Golu (21) and Sachin alias Dhoti (19) of Pahar Ganj. Two phones and a stolen scooter have been recovered from them. The police claimed to have solved three incidents with their arrest.

DCP (Central) Shweta Chauhan said that on November 16, constables Pradeep and Bittu, posted at Pahar Ganj police station near Jhandewalan metro station, were patrolling. At around 2:30 pm, it was seen near Metro Gate No-2 that two boys were roaming on a scooter in suspicious circumstances towards Panchkuia Road. When the policemen signaled to stop by giving their hands, they started running. Both the soldiers chased him and caught him. On checking, the scooter turned out to be stolen from Pahar Ganj area.

On search of both the accused, two phones were recovered. These phones were stolen from Sabzi Mandi and Karol Bagh police station areas. During interrogation, it was found that eight cases are already registered against Raj alias Golu. He had come out of jail some time back in a snatching case. After coming out, he started committing the crime. He, along with Sachin alias Dhoti, used to carry out incidents of theft and snatching in crowded areas.
