Brahma resides in the root of the banyan tree, Lord Vishnu resides in the trunk and Mahadev resides in the branches of the tree. Whereas the branch hanging down is the symbol of Maa Savitri. For this reason, worshiping the banyan tree on this special day brings the blessings of the trinity and the blessings of Mother Savitri also remain with the family.
