New Delhi: ‘Vat Savitri Vrat’ is considered to be of special importance in Hinduism. This time the second fast of ‘Vat Savitri Vrat’ (Vat Savitri Purnima Vrat) is today i.e. June 3, 2023, on Saturday. This fast is specially observed in Maharashtra, Gujarat and some areas of South India. It is believed that by observing this fast, the long life of the husband is attained. The story of this fast is related to Savitri and Satyavan. It is said that on the day of Jyeshtha Purnima, Savitri had kept an account of her husband Satyavan’s survival from Yamraj.

Date

According to the Panchang, the full moon date of Jyestha Shukla Paksha will begin on June 3 at 11.16 am and this date will end on June 4 at 9.11 am. In such a situation, the Vat Savitri Purnima fast will be observed on Saturday, June 3, 2023. This fast will be observed especially in Maharashtra, Gujarat and some regions of South India.

This year the Savitri Purnima fast is falling in very auspicious yoga. Shiva Yoga will be held on the full moon day of Vat Savitri fast. It is said that by performing auspicious work and worship in this yoga, all the wishes of a person are fulfilled.

There is no special difference between Poornima and Amavasya Vat Savitri Vrat. On this special day, in an auspicious time, married women worship the Banyan tree and tie Raksha Sutras around the tree, wishing for the long life of their husbands. The worship of the banyan tree has special significance on this special day. This is because it is believed that Lord Vishnu resides in the banyan tree. That’s why by worshiping Vat, the devotees get unbroken devotion.
