As people’s obesity increases, so many fancy diets are becoming very viral on social media, which claim to lose weight in no time. But most of those diet plans are not sustainable in the long run.

However, here we are telling you some simple and old Ayurvedic methods of weight loss that can help you. Dr. Vijay Seth, Senior Consultant Physician, Ayurveda, in a conversation with NavbharatTimes has told about 8 Ayurvedic remedies for weight loss which can be really helpful.

drink hot water

Dr. Vijay says that Ayurveda recommends drinking hot water instead of cold. Hot water is considered nectar in Ayurveda and helps rid the body of toxins (ama). Ama is a sticky food substance that accumulates in the body due to pollution and unhealthy food choices. Also, drinking hot water increases the digestive fire, which also increases appetite. In such a situation, whatever we consume, the digestive fire metabolizes the fat from that food and converts it into glucose.

have a light dinner

Dr. says that having a light dinner does not affect your digestive system and while you are sleeping, natural toxins increase in the body. According to Ayurveda, the best time to have dinner is before 7 pm. This gives your body enough time to digest the food.

eat three meals a day

Your body needs some rest from the regular digestion process. Therefore, it is important to give it a rest by eating healthy and small meals. Eat balanced meals thrice a day without taking breakfast in between, due to which digestion remains correct.
