When Gadkari said to Rajnath, check driver’s eye with private doctor, the government gives wrong report

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari strongly advocated road safety measures on the occasion of the beginning of Road Safety Month. Expressing concern over road accidents at the event organized at Vigyan Bhawan in the capital, Ghadkari mentioned the road accident that happened to himself. It was later discovered that my driver had a cataract. Gadkari said the driver of a chief minister was blinded by both eyes. The driver of a Union minister had a bad eye.

Gadkari said lightly that I will say the first thing to all the ministers and I will also pray to Rajnath Singh ji that whatever I have seen below, get your driver’s eye examined by a private doctor. If he has problems with his eyes, he gets a certificate. He meant the doctors of the government hospital. The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways further said that by 2025, measures are being taken to reduce the number of deaths in road accidents by 50%. Right now 415 people are dying every day in road accident. If the causes of accidents are not controlled, then by 2030, the number of people who die in road accidents will be 6-7 lakh.

Plan to open driving school in backward areas
At Vigyan Bhavan, Gadkari said that the government plans to open driving schools in backward areas. This will provide employment to 22 lakh people and save lives in road accidents. In the backward and tribal areas, the Ministry of Skill Development and their Ministry are working together on Driving Training School.

11 thousand kilometer road construction target
Gadkari said that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made a record by constructing 534 km of National Highways on 8 January. The Ministry has constructed 8,169 km of National Highways from April 2020 to 15 January 2021. The ministry hopes that with this speed it will be able to cross the target of building 11,000 km of road by 31 March.

Lenskart to examine drivers’ eyes in Delhi-NCR
Cab service provider Uber and eyeglass maker Lenskart have partnered with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to provide free eye check-up to the drivers. It was said on behalf of both companies that this is being done in the entire country including Delhi-NCR to reduce the number of road accidents due to blindness. The video is also released.
