Like the rest of the country, the second wave of corona created a ruckus in Gujarat too. During April, the cases of corona increased rapidly in the state. At that time the second wave was at peak. There was an outcry. But, the speed with which these cases had increased, the decline was equally strong. There is a saying that gold shines only by heating it. When you overcome something, you become stronger.
If you look at the graph of corona cases in Gujarat, it is bell-shaped, ie ‘bell shaped’. On 30 April, when the second wave of corona was at its peak, the cases had increased to 14,605 here. That is, 10 cases were being seen every minute. The decline is equally fast. On May 30, these cases came down to 2,230. That is, the decline happened seven times faster.
Both the common man and the scientists are surprised by the sharp fluctuations in the cases of Corona. A big disclosure has now been revealed in the study of Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center (GBRC). According to this, the mutation in the delta variant of the corona virus resulted in the rapid production of antibodies in people. This paved the way for the preparation of ‘herd immunity’ against the virus.
Why are antibodies made rapidly?
A research paper has been published regarding this. It is titled ‘Defective ORF8 Dimerization in Delta Variant of SARS CoV2 1 Leads to Abrogation of ORF8 MHC-1 Interaction and Overcome Suppression of Adaptive Immune Response’.
GBRC scientists have claimed that due to the delta variant, more antibodies were produced in people who had minor infections. The generation of antibodies from the delta variant was rapid. This did not happen in the old variant.
understand in scientific language
One researcher reported that two missing amino acids on ORF8 in the delta variant could not hold MHC-1 firmly. MHC-1 cells are surface molecules that alert the immune system. Due to this weak bonding, the immune system got early warning. In such a situation, the immune system became active only after a minor Kovid infection.
