India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd has launched a new variant of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 Super Sport Motorcycle with Unibody Seat under its brand campaign ‘The Call of the Blue’. The new YZF-R15S V3 (Unibody Seat) variant will be made available for sale at all authorized Yamaha dealerships in India along with the YZF-R15 V4 model. The YZF-R15S V3 has been priced at Rs 157,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available in Racing Blue color variant.
The YZF-R15 has been a significant milestone in the journey of the brand Yamaha. This product is very important for the company in increasing the racing culture in India. The R15S V3 variant is powered by a 155cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine. Its engine produces a maximum power of 18.6 PS at 10,000 rpm and a torque output of 14.1 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The fuel injected motor with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It will also get features like multi-function LCD instrument with gear shift indicator, dual channel ABS, assist and slipper clutch, side stand engine cut off switch, deltabox frame, aluminum swinggram and super wide 140/70-R17 radial rear tyres.
Speaking on the occasion, Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group said, “YZF-R15 Version 3.0 has been one of the most popular models in the 150cc super sport segment, driven by advanced technology and features. The YZF-R15 V4 is also being loved by all the customers in India, but our study revealed that customers are also looking for a better option for traveling with a partner that doesn’t compromise on the R15’s racing DNA. He further added, “Since the launch of the brand campaign The Call of the Blue in 2018, the R15 model range has registered a strong growth in sales. Between January 2018 to October 2021, we have sold a total of 2,76,445 units of the R15 model range. This clearly testifies to the success of The Call of the Blue campaign.’
